Girod Printing Press

722 Girod Street is a new-construction, five-story, 17-unit mixed-use building located in the Lafayette Square historic district. The new building incorporates a former printing press, whose restored facade maintains the urban street wall and anchors the building with its neighbors. Its interior houses a new restaurant and wine bar.

A “pocket park” serves as an intimate street-facing garden and functions as the residential entry. The new building rises behind — and cantilevers over — this new courtyard. The facade of the building is clad in bronzed aluminum screens, which reference the historic ironwork found throughout the neighborhood.
